I'm rediscovering my passion in life. I'm finally rediscovering my drive, I've been living like a zombie for too many years. That time is over. This is now. :) This is where we start.

And i believe that my 4+ months was not wasted, I was able to help one of my friends to see some of the skills she has, to improve her self confidence, to make her feel happier.

I've also realized how two-faced people can be, and I've emerged from this so much smarter, and stronger, and wiser with a clear direction where to head.

Of course, I also realize that I've never really been happy here in this country, however since I am still young we shall see where the drive takes me for now the only reason I'm still here is because the money here is better.

To quote success built to last: Success in the long run has less to do with finding the best idea, organizational structure, or business model for an enterprise, than with discovering what matters to us as individuals. It is here, at a very personal level, where thought and feeling inform each other, that creativity begins,n and where the potential for enduring organizations emerges.

It is the people that matters. My soon to be ex company should learn this by heart.

Goodbye, suckers! :)

When you let go of old cheese, you start to see that it is mouldy and you have been ignoring the mould all the while.

When you let go of old cheese, only then will you start to look for new cheese and see that new cheese is better than the mouldy old cheese.

When you laugh at yourself, you embrace change. And you believe that change is good for you.

Goodbye old cheese. I'm discarding my fears now and i'm going to look for fresh new cheese.

I was so blinded by the money that I failed to see that my personal development was stuck like a rut. I was becoming someone I vowed not to become. Superficial, materialistic, money-minded. Let this be a lesson to be learned.
That people can sometimes be superficial, and warm on the surface but will not hesitate to backstab you whenever they please. Goodbye and...

Hello world! :)

I think that working in an MNC is SO overrated.

Just my humble opinion. In a huge international organization like this you dont even meet your big big boss CEO and he/she has no idea absolutely of who you are, your organization here in some tiny asia country is just a dot in the whole pyramid structure and you are not even a dot in the whole organization. And all the positions are already fixed on your job functions, and what you do, who does what, cross functional is possible but highly limited and everything is just so niched. I guess it always boils down to the name of the organization you are working for, just like the brands that you wear. It's so fake but you feel so much better saying you have a LV bag rather than a pasar malam bag, no? But dont get me wrong I still havent bought into that yet, dont see a need to, altho the whole of Singapore has one each. Heh.

And I am conflicted everyday mornings i'm like oh mans afternoon i'm like this job is not bad. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side, or rather, the other departments. And then i'm not even sure thats what I want to do, do I want to stay in Science? I'm scared of making that change, taking that huge leap.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. And procrastination. Haha.

Newater, Sentosa, Underwater World, Ion Orchard Opening

10/10/09 Decided that this week we'll break out of the usual boring stay-at-home/go shopping malls and make a trip to Sentosa for the first time ever in the 4 years that we've been here :) And whats a trip to Sentosa without making a trip to Underwater World? :) Comes bundled in with a visit to the dolphin lagoon so was kinda still okay for the price
Fishies! And some big ass lazy white shark-like/sharks fishes who are contented to just show you their tails

Siloso beach, me excited to be at a beach again albeit a no waves beach and kang squinting in the sun lol ;p The water was clear tho very nice :)
haha worms :)
My fave sea turtles
Siloso beach looks decent no? Just no waves -.- and no fishes -.- and no shells -.-

You can put your head inside its mouth damn huge
Hello dugong aka sea mermaid busy greedily chomping on algae
Acting like a tourist with a water bottle
Entrance to Sentosa as viewed on the monorail

The week before - Went to visit the Newater plant for Kang's FYP
RO distillation process
Some stations for kiddy games
Micropores? For filtration. Overall nothing much was more to cater for secondary school kids.

Last night went for ION orchard's opening - only went there cos wang lee hom was performing haha. Had to wait agonizingly for 1 hour plus with an empty stomach cos they had fashion shows + some dragon dance first. Couldnt really see clearly also cos stood super far away from the stage - they had it all barricaded from public. Whats the use of advertising in the public newspaper when you need a VIP pass to go in?!
Lazy to upload videos of wang lee hom, caught him waving to the crowds later whilst going up an escalator :)

We then proceeded to have a pillow fight :)

yums :)

I think that somehow in the pursue of $$ and all things materialistic I've lost my sight on one super important thing that I've stressed again and again that nothing is more important than this:

Family. And Love.

Okay, that's 2 things. But yea, how much money can you fork out to buy love? or family? None, baby. None. Even if you had zillions you still cant buy a family, or love, and i mean real love, not fake gold-digger love which is so commonly found nowadays.

Now to steer myself back and remind myself constantly. Whenever you think of $$ this place seems like wow so nice but if you look at family and love this place is EMPTY. there's nothing there. It's empty. ( The click five-empty lyrics comes to mind)

When i balik rumah on certain weekends i see a dad who works in sg and goes back every weekend and his small kids (3 of them, 2 small boys like 4 5 yrs old)will always cry and tell their daddy all they want is him to not go and leave them. But duty calls and he still leaves for work anyway.

And if you think about it, would you make such a sacrifice? Your kids now are still young they will miss you and pine for you but when they are teenagers/all grown up you didnt spend much time at all you're just the fella who came on weekends ate some meals say be good and go back. Which sounds like somebody I know...

There wont be a bond. Would you sacrifice that for money? That bond that is so priceless it comes once in a lifetime and if you dont cherish it well its hard for you to get it back I can tell you that.

Would you?

working is soo much better than studying

no stress man! :)

when you start at the bottom, you see people's true colours, they dont have to be nice to you, or act nice or act anything. So if you're at the bottom you see quite a lot and learn quite a lot.

My heart goes out to Annie Le, the 24 year old graduate student who was going to get married. The fact that bloodied clothes were found stuffed in a ceiling tile at her lab is really saddening. Imagine your whole life and finally you're getting that phD and going to get married and you have your whole life shining bright ahead of you and this thing happens to you. And i wont be surprised yale is covering up some stuff to protect their reputation. It took 4 days to bring in the dogs, to bring in blueprints of buildings? FOUR days?

It's sad that human beings, supposedly with the highest level of thinking, will kill each other for minor minute things.

Animals wont even kill each other.

Excerpts from President's Obama Speech worth noting (with slight modifications)

' Every single one of you has something you're good at. Every single one of you has something to offer. And you have a responsibility to yourself to discover what that is. That's the opportunity an education can provide.

We need every single one of you to develop your talents, skills and intellect so you can help solve our most difficult problems.

But at the end of the day, the circumstances of your life - what you look like, where you come from, how much money you have, what you've got going at home - that's no excuse for neglecting your homework or having a bad attitude. That's no excuse for not trying.

Set your own goals, which can be something as simple as doing all your homework, paying attention in class, or spending time each day reading a book - and do everything you can to meet them.

Whatever you resolve to do, I want you to commit to it. I want you to really work at it.

But the truth is, being successful is hard. You won't love every subject you study. You wont click with every teacher. Not every homework assignment will seem completely relevant to your life right this minute. And you wont neccessarily succeed at everything the first time you try. That's OK. Some of the most successful people in the world are the ones who've had the most failures. JK Rowling's first Harry Potter book was rejected 12 times before it was finally published. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team, and he lost hundreds of games and missed thousands of shots during his career. But he once said, 'I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.' These people succeeded because they understand that you cant let your failures define you - you have to let them teach you. You have to let them show you what to do differently next time. If you get a bad grade, it doesnt mean that you're stupid, it just means that you need to spend more time studying.

No one's born being good at things, you become good at things through hard work. You've got to practice.

Dont be afraid to ask questions. Dont be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Asking for help isnt a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength. It shows you have the courage to admit when you don't know something, and to learn something new. So find someone that you trust and ask them to help you stay on track to meet your goals.

And even when you're struggling, even when you're discouraged, and you feel like other people have given up on you - dont ever give up on yourself. Keep on going, try harder, and dont do anything less than your best.

So today, I want to ask you, what's your contribution going to be? what problems are you going to solve? What discoveries will you make? What will a president who comes here in 20 or 50 or 100 years say about what all of you did for this country?

You've got to do your part. So I expect you to get serious this year. I expect you to put your best effort into everything that you do. I expect great things from each of you. So don't let us down - Don't yet your family or yourself down. Make us all proud. I know you can do it.'

So inspiring. I wish I had someone who gave me this speech when I was still in high school. But it's still not too late. It still applies :)

To be normal...

or to be GREAT?

:))

Wednesday, September 02, 2009

why do you still read my blog? :)

Now that i'm more contented with this country, i'm having less and less things to gripe about. haha. Just the usual mrt and body odour of the ppl in mrt and the escalating number of smokers on the street.

Speaking of that. My gosh every morning and evening walk to my office must breathe in some *insert curse word* 2nd hand smoke into my lungs. You want to get your lung cancer go ahead man dont irritate my sensitive throat. They should make it a rule that smokers should wear masks, everything u breathe out you breathe back in and i'll laugh at you when i watch you choke on your own smoke and die. Bwahaha. Serves you right.

Well yes i am the baby of the company i'm really the youngest by 2 or 3 years old. But i am proud and happy to tell you that altho I may be the youngest, I can knock your socks off and do things so fast and efficient it can make your glasses drop off no problem. Bring everything on haha. Cos i love my office and my boss and my colleagues. Went back over weekend wah now finally earning some sgd everything back home is soooo cheap :D Yea la i am super price conscious sales addict summore merdeka sales what to do. I will budget myself this month. :)

I miss all my dear friends which i met over the summer. Hope that you are all doing well :) You all are always in my heart no matter how far, thousands of miles, apart. And you all know who you are ;) Hugs.

One more random thought. The songs nowadays are all about the wrong things lah but the beats n d melodies are soooooooooooooooooo bloody addictive.

dum de da dum

nowadays whenever i reach the mrt station in the morning the today paper always habis already so sad. Usually i happily grab a copy and read it all the way while i walk to work. This week met a guy who came down from kl for training, haha i actually applied for that position in kl also but they were so slow in replying me when they actually did call me up i already had this job. Hehe when the guy heard he was like, wah damn lucky you already had this job! lol ;p I really look forward to my HR induction in kl where i will finally get to meet my own fellow msians :)) all the ppl who came down to d sg office from kl all so nice n friendly la. so nice.

G2k now having some massive sales cannot get in kl ever thats why a sales addict like me has gone a bit mad :P Cos i usually cannot afford now suddenly can. Lalala.

Oh. Yest i went to get my ear checked cos its been blocked quite long over the past few days and this all started since a plane loooong time ago u know when u land the
pressure goes 'pop' when the plane lands and ur ears feel normal again when this time it didnt happen to the left ear and i've been having some problems with it since. Then since i have some med benefits can claim ma now working, thought might as well give it a check in case infection later i lose my hearing how right. so searched online since consultation between public hosp n specialist diff of 30 bucks ah can claim might as well go for someone reputable right. Later i meet someone not reputable ask me go for surgery like in msia all d docs all surgery surgery can die. so off i went my boss allow me to go so good right i love my boss then went d doc check my ear cleard some wax on d right ear then say its prob my nose causing the prob lets give it a check, i said okay sure get it diagnosed right. then he turned the chair around and held up a tube with a bright light at d end then i was like hmm wait a minute then he said okay breathe in and out normally..and then pushed the tube into my nose wtf. and then through my nose into my throat OMG can DIE. o.O O.O then he showed me d video turns out its not ear wax lodged in my ear or sth turns out due to my sensitive nose all my life so eustachian tube slightly dysfunctional in opening n closing so pressure a bit hard to stabilize. then he said ok go for a skin allergy we see whether its allergies. Well i already knew i allergic to dust mite used to go for skin allergy tests in nus for free and get paid 10 bucks for being a volunteer. So i went ahead then yea la dustmite la so i told him no need medications la i can live with this as long as not ear infection can already he was fine with it. Went out receptionist say about next apptment i say not neccessary then ok then she give me the bill OMG wtf take your 1st 4 figure digit divide by half. yes i was expecting 3 digit but not that much that skin allergy test was 120 wtf which is i guess the market price. =(

give me a shock man. Lucky can claim. If not really cannot sleep or spend anymore money everyday dont eat or sth. lol. Doubt i'll go to doc again for a long long time.

I am SOOOO bored. Seriously. When I go back on weekends i get so tired, when i stay here I get so bored and it is really so super damn boring here nothing to do at all man. Sales also cannot compare to home, malls also cannot compare, food also cannot compare, parks also cannot compare, zzz.

I am so bored. I need more friends. Right now I only have one friend :( But then again having one true friend is better than having 10 fake friends. Am i the only person who has so few friends ah. Everyone seems to be having parties go clubbing blablabla so many groups of friends. Maybe i'm just super antisocial. And probably boring. Havent really done anything extraordinary in this lifetime. I was watching Marley and Me today and i thought altho dogs have such short lives marley sure did live his to the fullest, good for him :) Oh, and i also found the closing commentary very true and worth sharing:

" A dog has no use for fancy cars or big homes or designer clothes, a waterlog stick will do just fine; a dog doesnt care if ur rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb, give him ur heart and he will give you his. How many people can u say the same about? how many ppl can make u feel rare, and pure, and special? how many ppl can make u feel extraordinary? "

Seriously man. How many? One or two if you are lucky to meet them in your lifetime here on this Earth.

We should all learn from dogs.

Still loving my work and hating the mrt at rush hours :)

I particularly like when my HR associate and my department secretary start talking about hair food specs clothes lol. I've missed out on girl talk for soo long. Thank god my office can receive both hitz and fly fm! I tell u sg radios are SOOOO BORING PLS HAVE SOME ENERGY WHEN YOU TALK SO FLAT SONGS SO BORING if i didnt have hitz and fly i would have been really tempted to start my own radio..or throw a rock at sg radios. Buck up man. Have some energy. Semangat sikit. So yea, hitz and fly. I listen to it when I have some free time :) I am also very good at multitasking :) So far impressed everyone already lalala. Too bad the office people mostly 30+ sigh. Only the med reps are around my age and they arent always around the office. And the super high up people are upstairs at the regional office, lots of caucasians..which I never go to. :(

Oh wells. Anyway its a good job and a good company. :)

When you start to dress up nicely then you start to get attn and people come and intro themselves to you. When you dress tshirt and short everyday go uni nobody bothers about you at all. Dont even want to know you as a friend or know your name. Heh. From there you will know who are your true friends, or who will really love you for you. Which makes me wonder hmmm some girls they have to live with hair extensions and seriously paint on a face everyday, so if lets say they get a bf then at night where got ppl put makeup then the guy will get a shock and faint. lol.Just a funny thought i had, cos every morning in the mrt i see girls which such THICK foundation it looks so fake. haha.

I like my looks and i like my hair. I actually LOVE my natural hair hah you can count with your fingers who has natural hair and no natural hair isnt straight no matter what that is straightened hair already natural hair will curl sometimes quite irritating but its natural. hah.

I have trouble finding the right shoes to wear to work. Still yet to find the pair of heels/covered/ nice classy slippers in which i can WALK in without getting blisters! my feet skin is really irritating small small thing then cut/get blister! super irritating. and no i dont want to wear crocs.

It irks me that daughtry's newest album has 4 different versions in which each version comes with different bonus songs. :( And the bonus songs are the nicest songs! If you can get your hands on the song Long Road, i highly recommend it. I loved it since i first heard it at last year's concert. :)

Taylor Swift's you belong with me is soo nice and catchy :) The lyrics also makes sense, i like her lyrics, very true and honest :)

after work i decided to jalan jalan around suntec then after that leg pain my heels ah getting worse bleargh so decided to hop on d free bus thinking it will take me to city hall where d mrt is. so i was congratulating myself during the start of d journey haha so smart if not have to walk so far look at that so many turns and traffic lights. then i saw city hall coming up n i thought okay time to get off so good so smart of me. but the bus drove past city hall then i thought oh crap i hope it doesnt end up in changi why is suntec so generous the drivers can drive so far! the bus stopped at clarke quay instead -.- in the end have to walk further cos have to change mrt lines alamak. This is called smart aleck.

Today I received a very NICE thing in the mail today:

Wow! Commencement Gift 2009! Wow! Am I getting a gift for all my toil and pain and suffering? Are you finally going to give me a pleasant surprise? I'm so touched!

*Flips open*

Dream on girl! --> A special Commencement Gift TO YOUR CHILD wtf. A few more pictures for your viewing pleasure

with a minimum donation of $100, your child's name can be on the board for everyone to see! So prestigious my foot. What a con job! As if i want my name on it! you pay me 100 bucks to put my name on your board is much more like it.

Please fill in the form to get conned

A special commencement gift to your child?! I'd like to see you give me a nice gift, instead of putting some nice words to get money! Shame on you. As if you havent earned enough from my graduation gown just because i'm such an inelastic customer right! Geram gila.

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

on 25th June 2009, the King of Pop Michael Jackson breathed his last breath, the circumstances of his death still unclear. I was never really a fan, but throughout my childhood altho I never took the initiative to know him or his music, I still knew some of his music and his famous dance moves n the ever famous moonwalking stunt =) And these few days with the media full of his news, I read about his life, listened to his works, and watched one of his live concerts on dvd. I was really moved by some of his songs eg you are not alone, heal the world, i'll be there, and touched by how his songs tried to break down racial barriers (black or white), or to ask you to change yourself if you didnt like what you see in the mirror. He may have been eccentric, but I believe sans his quirks he was a very nice and loving person, and I admire the way he protected his 3 children fiercely from the media. I'm sorry for all the pain you went through, and all the surgeries you had to undergo, how people pushed you to your limits, and even the financial distress, and I am sure that you are in a much better place now and will rest in peace. You are, and is, the greatest entertainer of all time, and the world will definitely miss you while you will continue to live on in your music. God bless. =)

Friday, June 19, 2009

Well you'd be happy to know that I've finally gotten my ass moving and am no longer listed under 'useless' or 'jobless' hah. And once i get my ass moving i get swarmed by offers which brings me to say that jobs come and find me when i want haha. :)) (yes I am feeling rather smug ;p )

So i've been applying to all the big pharma companies and fingers crossed i'll get to hear from them soon! Meanwhile I was on the lookout for temp jobs / promoter jobs and i came across this website asiaparttime.com that lists all the temp promoter jobs some posts are really not bad the pay is quite impressive for temp. I saw this advert rm100 a day at klcc so hey why not since im so free now at home lets give it a try. Emailed this fella and he called me up and we agreed to have a training the next day at 3pm. He offered to pick me up from kj lrt but hrm u think i trust u like that ah pick me up later fetch me dunno where wtf so nolah get the address i go there myself. So i reached there at 3pm sharp on the dot and from the address given i expected an office lot with at least a name out front...but no it was some shady stairs up one floor and there was no office name hung outside at all. wth right. So i'm thinking man like this i dont want to do already lah how the heck am i going to get my money with a nonexistant office. Called up the fella and he was like eh who are you again? oh yea yea eh which project are u working for again? oh yea yea eh i'm on my way from my office wait a while okay i'm reaching. i'm like wtf u should have all this info at ur fingertips and hello i work on sg time not msia time u expect me to wait for u ah u should be waiting for me if u wanna hire me. So kids, first impression is very impt. rmb that. haha.

anyway i waited half an hour okay cos i felt it was my bad too for backing out last min haha but i came up with a good story and managed to get out phew. Some punk guy who obviously looks like has no sense of responsibility omg la how to work like that buck up la for goodness sake. So kids, another lesson, dress up well be punctual and act responsibly. Oh wait thats 3 lessons. haha. :P

Am watching FRINGE, a series by my fave director jj abrams who directed my fave series ALIAS and also LOST :)) Well I was impressed by the starting woo bioterrorism weapon melts you out dissolves your tissues etc on a flight so cool. Then the only good looking actor was exposed to it then it was some chem rxn then he got saved only to go beserk and get himself killed again. wtf haih this one i really dont get it. now left the actors not good looking and i dont find a very good continuity to the story haih. Bring more good looking actors in next time okay?

Transformers 2 is coming out ooooh soooo excited man :D anyway i got a temp office job which i liked last time so all's swell and good and rosy :) And i got to meet up with my best fren chris too so nice that he lives so near me now can meet up very often :)) still waiting for jx to come back haha.

Haha took this off a EW website
http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20007164_20171835_20280292_2,00.html

1. For perhaps the first time in Idol history, there is a common enemy much more deserving of our loathing than any individual contestant ever could be. I speak, of course, of ''No Boundaries,'' the Idol coronation song that rests at the bottom of the treacly song trash bin like the combined juices of so many discarded foodstuffs.

I hope the bad news I am bearing does not cause your breakfast to take leave of your stomach, but within the last couple of hours, I received an email from a publicist for iTunes that declared the following: American Idol season 8 winner Kris Allen, and runner-up Adam Lambert's versions of their debut single 'No Boundaries,' is available at iTunes now.'' To which I say ''WHAT?'' I thought the consolation prize for this year's runner-up was the assurance that they wouldn't be forced into releasing a digital version of what I'm hoping will be Kara DioGuardi's final defilement of the Idol franchise. It is in honor of her beast of a composition, then, that I write this week's Idol-themed ditty. Set to the tune of Bobby McFerrin's ''Don't Worry, Be Happy,'' it is called '''No Boundaries, It's Crappy.'' Click here if you want a little musical accompaniment!

Here's a song that Kara wrote
It suffers from bad lyrical bloat
''No Boundaries,'' it's crappy
She can't quit yapping, she makes me hurl
She makes me long for Bikini Girl
''No Boundaries,'' it's crappy

In every season they choose some ballad
How come it's always soft and pallid?
''No Boundaries,'' it's crappy
This song it stunk up the whole finale
Too bad it's more up Danny's alley
''No Boundaries,'' it's crappy

Kris and Adam they tried so hard
But they ended up all bruised and scarred
''No Boundaries,'' it's crappy
Did they say somethin' 'bout hurricanes?
This non-melody causes stomach pains
''No Boundaries,'' it's crappy

HAHAHA. Just watched the finale and gosh the song really sucks.

I'm still deciding whether I should work in Sg for a while then KL, or just screw sg forever and KL :))) The experience gained in Sg would probably be good, and the money would be better. However, lifestyle-wise, nothing beats coming home to a home-cooked meal lovingly prepared on the table and kicking off your shoes and just relaxing with your family. I guess it's always the lifestyle vs money problem. Bah.

American Idol Finale coming up tomorrow! Or, today, don't really know cos i'm watching it free on 8tv haha. Didnt really keep up at all till the final 3, where i watched it for the first time. To be honest....I didnt find danny's voice thaaat nice ( couldnt hear it much against the music), kris's voice ok ok lah not bad nice piano n guitar skills, adam...what the shit since when did SCREAMING become singing?! I cannot stand guys singing in the high fake voice omg want to become a girl then just become a girl.

Chris Daughtry's voice is still the best. Have you heard the latest single No Surprise? :) After hearing a few times its getting nicer and nicer :) Can't wait for his next album in july haha esp the song 'long road' which i heard in the concert :D

Today I did myself a huge favour and went for a nice swim :)

Been so long since i last swam. Last time the waters would always be crystal clear and you could see the whole pool. TODAY..however, the water was so murky and greenish..eww. Maintainence ppl have obviously not been doing their job well *geram look. Oh wells. Swam my minimum 750m and decided that was enough for the day the water wasnt helping haha :P

Feels good after a vigorous exercise! :)

SCHOOL'S OUT FOREVER

On 7th May 2008, I had human pharmacology - 6 essays in 2 hours, not too bad. Luckily can remember all the drug names, adverse effects, mechanisms of actions, discuss effects of SSRIs TCAs etc etc :) I love my brain it never lets me down when I need it haha even after cramming SO MANY info in 1 day for this paper.

finished that paper at 3pm, reached home at 4, bathed etc after having dinner was 6pm. Started on next subject Hormones and health, brain was already feeling very saturated due to the 2 core papers before that, with molecular basis of human diseases having SO MUCH STUFF to study for :)Pace was quite slow, went through notes once, went to bed 12.30am was rather stressed, weather was hot, and prob due to caffeine, couldnt sleep till 3 sth O.O And with each hour i was like shit tmr have to wake up at 6.30am and have to be super alert to do 150 true false + 30 mcqs in 2 hours.

woke up this morning head feeling heavy, but thankfully everything got better by the time i reached school at 8 :) Sat at a corner surprisingly can rmb all the stuff as went through notes again :)

9am start exam yadayadayada yay finished paper at about 10.35am! half an hour more to go! :) Decided not to leave since its my last paper forever in my whole life so i sat there, lazy to go through answers as I tend to change correct to wrong I trust my first time judgement :) I looked at the tables lined up and separated neatly in rows, with everyone around me looking super stressed tackling the questions. I looked at the overhead projector, the prof, the helpers, the paper, the mcq sheet, my matric card, looked at answers, shaded in all the uncertain questions dont care about negative marking anymore, sat there and absorbed in the atmosphere which I am so glad I will never ever ever ever have to go through again. No more continuous exams, tests, forever.

I suppressed a huge grin and from laughing out maniacally when the papers were collected :)

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

SUCKS TO YOU NUS I'M FREE

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA X 10^INFINITY

My pace of studying is slowly going down as my saturated brain reaches the limit (think of curve where it goes up linearly then plateaus to a straight line or even decrease slowly)

been sitting here for 14 hours everyday for 10 days and have read about 6000 slides full of writing + text zzz plus facts. Summore have to commit to memory.

So for the last 3.5-4 months, i've had roughly...21 tests/exams. + final another 6..so 27 exams in 3.5-4 months. interesting.

Been surfing some blogs esp those sgprean frens blogs..what is wrong with them all so i dont want to leave and graduate boohoohoo. Grow up, people.

tomorrow marks the battle of 4 exams consecutive with 3 full core papers!

better get that curve back to linear line. bah.

MORE inconvenience

NUS is geared to make my last few days as miserable as possible.

as i said my last 4 papers are on the last 4 days of exam: 5, 6, 7, 8 may. And 3 out of 4 is 9am paper means have to get up at 7.

well just realized that i have to MAYBE get up at 6 now instead!!!! got this email:
"
In view of the heightened alert status, the Ministry of Education has advised that the University begin daily temperature-taking for staff, students and visitors to the University. In addition, we will also be required to declare our recent travel history.

Semester 2, AY2008/2009 Examinations: Temperature Screening

3. While examinations will continue as scheduled from 4 to 8 May 2009, all students must first pass the temperature screening before being allowed entry into the examination venue.

4. All examination venues will be opened from one hour prior to the start time of each scheduled examination. You should plan to arrive as early as possible within this hour for temperature screening. To help expedite this process, you are strongly encouraged to bring your own thermometer for this exercise.

5. Upon passing the screening, you will be allowed into the examination rooms to await the start of the examination.

6. You are required to cooperate fully with the screeners. In this respect, please volunteer information on your recent travel history. This is especially significant for those who have recently returned, or have come into contact with those who have recently arrived/returned, from Mexico and/or other affected areas. For the most up-to-date list of affected areas, please refer to MOH’s website at www.moh.gov.sg. "

and this

" The Ministry of Education has advised that as of Monday, 4 May 2009, all schools and Institutions of Higher Learning in Singapore will begin daily temperature taking of their staff, students and visitors. In line with this advice, the University will be setting up temperature screening stations at the main entrances of building clusters to conduct temperature checks on visitors entering its campuses. There will be directional signs to the temperature screening stations.

3. All examination venues will be open one hour prior to the start time of each scheduled examination for temperature screening. A circular from Registrar’s Office will contain more details.

4. From Monday, 4 May 2009, all students will be required to monitor their own temperatures on a daily basis. Please record your temperature reading online at https://aces01.nus.edu.sg/prjvhs/index.html by 10 am each day. "

Saturday, April 25, 2009

So I was just clicking on some older posts in 2006.

Is it me or have I gotten so much more cynical and more negative outlook on life since coming to singapore? I also feel that my life is very extremely boring. Heck, i used to bake and jog and swim and blablabla.

Well, hopefully it'll get better after graduation!

1 down, 5 more to go

Spiderman?! Library!?

1.30am?! So many people studying?! on studybreak week?!

Insane madness.

I guess this is the only form of entertainment NUS students get.

Heh.

Today is the 1st time in my whole life I had to do a test which consists of

EIGHT (8) essays in ONE (1) freaking hour!

8 essays in 1 hour! each 10 marks 15 marks! What the freaking hell man. No we were not told beforehand. And i thought last year 6 essays in 1 hour was bad enough, not to mention the common 200 true/false / mcq questions in 2 hours.

Heh. See how fast you have to be? You not only have to be GOOD, but also FAST. you have to be the BEST.

If you dont, well, Singapore doesnt want you. Heh.

Tell me when you can finish 8 essays, long essays write like hell fast in 1 hour.

hah.

Been having test/testS / graded lab report(S) deadline EVERY SINGLE BLOODY WEEK FOR LIKE 7 WEEKS and now is only week 10. we have 13 weeks for one sem. AND the trend will continue UNTIL week 13. joy.

exam timetable:

exam period : 25th April - 8th May 2009

Well you know last sem I had 4 core in 3 days at the first few days of exam and then 1 more paper a week later, but still ended a few days before the last day. Having exams at last few days really SUCK cos everyone's celebrating around you and its damn irritating to study and its super irritating to HAVE TO study.

This sem i have 4 core again and 2 more outside faculty modules.

exam timetable:
25th April - 1 core - Molecular Biotech
29th April - 1 outside fac - drugs and society
5th MAY - 1 outside fac - stats
6th MAY - 1 core - Molecular basis of human diseases
7th MAY - 1 CORE - human pharmacology
8th MAY - 1 CORE - hormones and health

Damn f*&^ing shit.

Yes NUS I know you want to prolong my time in uni as long as possible in my final sem but thank you very much i don't appreciate it. I can't wait to leave you behind.

Head count: 1

Haha guess I haven't blogged for a really really long time. Not that I have that many (or any) readers, since i dont bother to upload pics and update often ;p

So I guess this undergrad life is going to end soon. I'm real happy that at least I made one good friend throughout my 2.5 years here in NUS haha. And likewise he feels that i'm his best friend in life science too! :) Thanks for everything, Anubhav :) I probably wont see you again after this undergrad degree, so all the best in everything - masters, work, life.

Thats the only regret I have about graduating haha. Other than that, I CANT WAIT TO GRADUATE :) :) :) Really had enough of this study-non-stop-and-get-mediocre-results-stressful life. Rather stress and earn some money.

Okay, back to that stupid one of the final few lab reports in my life about CETP. Blasted CETP.

Friday, January 16, 2009

Hello!

Why do you still visit this blog even tho I havent updated for like a month? :D

Haha.

Brief updates:

Fun FUn busy holiday (But i didnt get much rest :( ) went to Melaka, Ipoh, Genting for countdown (spectacular fireworks!)went out almost everyday, ate good food, had good company, and gearing up for CNY celebrations!

Till then..its back in this singapore for another week of boring studying. Last semester! Well thats if I don't want to do honours. Haha. Apart from research there's not much use in doing research for my course. And I dont really want to go into research either. Can you imagine me going to lab 24 hrs everyday? Bleargh.

Hm..regrets for choice of course? I dunno. But my interest is definitely in this field. Maybe should have gone for medic if had the $$. Oh wells. Now can earn $$ faster :)
