Just in case you were wondering how the hell do I look like now ;p
What I absolutely love about my grandparent's place...
The neverending yummy scrumdidlycious FOOD
The very pretty flowers and the huge garden
The animals
Not to mention all my lovely cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents :D
When I grow up I want a house just like theirs :D

Chipped tooth..fixed :D
Today was supposed to be my The X-Race event.
But then my tooth filling came off and exposed my nerve, so I chose to be selfish and lazy and went to the dentist instead cos the dental clinics here are only open from 9-1pm on Saturdays and closed on Sundays.
No qualms about it tho :D Cos I've really been doing everything for this event, be it fundraising, planning etc and it's really time for someone other than me to start doing the things. After all, I am the project ADVISOR and am supposed to be ADVISING, not DIRECTING (hint project director) :D
However, credit must also be given to the project director for making this event a success! :D (although only 4 teams came and everyone went back home with free cash in their pockets)
Let's sidetrack to my dental visit first.
Called the NTUC Denticare call centre at 8.45am in the morning, and she said there was a appointment available for the 11am time slot. Hrm but no harm walking in and see whether there will be any vacancies. So okay with the company of Kang dear (who painstakingly woke up at 8am for me when he usually sleeps till mid noon, so touching..hm. okay very touching hehe thank you hugs hugs ;p ) we went off to clementi, took about 20 minutes to find the place ( I usually have very good sense of direction..maybe not with a bad tooth :P), went in and was told that someone booked the 11am timeslot yesterday but they forgot to key it into the database.
Hm. But oh well since it's singapore i was sure that they wouldnt turn me away, since the call centre made a mistake and not me, so we just sat down and waited. Watched an episode of doraemon :D :D :D on the TV and fin reading the new straits times before I got called in at around 10.45am. Eep I do not like dental checkups :(
I had cleaning and polishing done..I really disliked the sharp device poking around at my gums :( Then had an x-ray taken to see whether my exposed nerve had been damaged..luckily the x-ray din show any nerve damage but the dentist says that sometimes preliminary infection will not show up on x-ray, so if in the next 2 months i get some toothache I'll have to go back for treatment (Oh man I wish I never went bike racing on that day boohoo) So lets hope my nerve is well and okay. :)
The really professional dentist fixed up my tooth with super advanced tools like blue laser in like 5 minutes. The whole thing cost me $97..which is quite okay I guess :)
Went back to NUS to find everyone waiting for me, the VVIP to give out the cash prizes. Gave out the money that me and my subcom very very painstakingly raised thru fundraising, took some pictures, and yay all went home after that :D
Went for lunch @ dianxiaoer and Dinner @ soup restaurant. Yums. Phoebe is a happie girl when her stomach is full :D
Burps :D

Relaxing Weekend
Ever since coming to Singapore to study, one thing i've learnt is to appreciate my dearest family more and that home is always where the heart is.(I know that when i'm in singapore I tend to get overstressed about work and start to neglect a certain someone sometimes, but hehe thanks for putting up with me, it is really a stressful place. ;p )
Some people go abroad, start partying and start to forget their roots, of who they really are...well I guess it is all due to the upbringing and how close you are to your family and relatives and how susceptible you are to change. Change, of course, may be good, as long as deep down you still remember who you are, who brought you up, and who and what made you who are now.
Finished about 5 or 6 tests in the past 2 weeks, next test will be on the 25th of March. Everyone's being a nerd and have already started studying for the test, which brings about 40% of the final grade, whereas i'm still bumming around :) After a hectic 6 hour lecture on Friday, went out to Vivocity for some yummy pan mee which I have been craving for quite a long time. :) Kang dear added some prawns in too, which I like :D Ate some gelato after that from Bravissismo yums.
Saturday was spent introducing Kang to sarawak noodles, something that I've grown up with :) You know I don't get why west malaysians always think that east malaysia is more run down and that ppl there are really backwards and still live on trees, well, ppl there are much more advanced if not the same, the air is fresher, the environment better, the people so much nicer, and the place is very cosy too. Heh. Even the food there is better. The sarawak noodles found here in Singapore is quite good, but of course nothing beats the original one in sarawak. Hah. We then went of to suntec city, where carrefour was having this hyper sale. Found a really good bargain - bill bryson a short history of the world, Illustrated for only $10. What a steal. :D
Went out for dinner again at night @ Sakae Sushi @ Vivocity ;p Saturday was really a going out day, havent done that in ages. :) In my opinion sakae sushi is still way better than sushi tei, we went to try sushi tei that day and it sucks. Yucks. Smaller portions and seriously not nice at all! The ramen was so salty and the noodles were so plasticky. And the price was so pricey. Only for rich people who have nth better to eat. Bleh. You may disagree but that's my opinion, hah.
Got my yummy soya bean plus barley (good combination) from jollibean before heading back, kang showed me this one video - the last lecture by a carnegie mellon professor whereby he has terminal cancer and yea..but he's really optimistic about the whole situation, altho it really stinks cos he still has 3 small kids to look after. Follow your childhood dreams. I can't really rmb what I really wanted to be, was always alternating mostly around doctor, teacher, astronaut. Haha. Where will this degree take me.
But now I don't feel like becoming a doctor anymore, even though I probably will love the course and everything. I just don't feel like spending another 10 years studying and having tests. dum de da da. I'm so lazy. stress and tests have drown out some of the passionate feelings I had for this subject. Boo. Horrible place.
I'm becoming such a complainer. ;p
Must be more optimistic..going home soon yay :) Happiest place on Earth :)

This is the major event that i'm in charge of. It's really quite a pain organizing events like this here cos everyone just studies and don't participate in activities. Hell, our fundraising events, nobody wanted to look at our stall at all cos they were rushing for classes or tutorials, in the end we ended up selling to professors. ;p
What a pain.

*blows dust off blog*
22nd - 1st March = Mid term break, went back home. Had a rockin' good time, nothing like meeting old friends again, mainly, PK and JS :) Hearts :) Best of all, nothing like having normal dinners at home with family, going to markets and malls, and going around eating nice food with Kang without having to bother about tests or datelines. Went for my cut at A cut above Academy...Luckily a professional cutter came in to help the beginner on my hair, so it's nice! Altho I had to wait 2 whole hours just to shampoo, cut and blowdry -.-"
1st March - I was hoping it'll rain and flood up the whole place so the bus wouldnt leave and I don't have to leave home...well it did rain and it did jam all the way...but in the wrong direction. Pfft. So here I am back again in this place with looming tests on Thurs, Fri, and Next wednesday for now.
2nd march - 7th March - Studied non stop like a nerd for the 2 stupid tests. I dislike mcqs. they are always so trickyyy. Went for a stupid econs experiment and got $7 instead of $16 or even $37 because of bad luck and dumb uni students who has no common sense (whether in econs or normal life) at all. Rewarded myself on 7th March night by watching Toy Story 1 AND 2 =D Whee.
Green alien toys: *Surrounds Mr. Potatohead* " You have saved our lives! We are eternally grateful!" (repeat x 5)
Mr. Potatohead: "Will you just quit it!"
Ahahaha. Good stuff.
